We have created specialist support for Deaf BSL users who may not be familiar or confident with using technology as we are conscious of the impact this may have with maintaining social interaction and their wellbeing.
We are pleased to announce that we have been able to adapt our service to support the BSL community during this time. This adaption has been possible due to the flexibility of our Deaf Together NWK funding, as well as additional funding.
We will have ‘Engagement Workers’ who will work with those who are at ‘high risk’ during the coronavirus period. This is a new role created specifically for this current situation.
We are able to offer the service free of charge but as the funding is limited, there is an eligibility criteria. Support will be primarily for the Gravesend, Ashford (including Folkestone and Hythe), Maidstone and Margate areas, but given the uniqueness of the situation, every case will be considered.
If you would like to be referred or to refer someone, please complete the form below.
Any queries, please do not hesitate to email us at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Hello, good morning!
Do you know any deaf people in Kent that are over 70, who have any health problems, or can’t go to the shops / collect medications or are isolated.
I would be happy if you could please share them my number, or ask if they are happy for you to share their contact details to us as we have a funding to support those people going through the Coronavirus, we have a team who can offer support to those people.
