Community Support Workers (pa)

Community Support Workers are committed to working with deaf people on areas of need that have been identified. Some of these include:

  • Assisting with paperwork such as bills and letters, and how to manage these.

  • Promoting independence by encouraging deaf people to access their local community and deaf events.

  • Show or assist deaf people with how to deal with communication methods such as making calls via assistive technology, video interpreted calls or emails.

  • Reducing loneliness and building confidence by being another person who can communicate with them as an equal.

  • Offering enablement specific support – one targeted area to work on together.
